Sara has studied piano privately for 15 years and is a 1999 graduate of Shorter College, where she received a Bachelor of Music degree in Piano Performance (with a minor in voice). She received keyboard pedagogy training from Mary Ann Knight and studied piano under William Knight. During that time, she taught private piano lessons for two years in the Shorter College Preparatory Department and then another for another two years at the Music Academy in Rome, Georgia.
After graduation, Sara returned to the Atlanta area and taught four more years of private piano and voice lessons through The Peggy Still School of Music in Roswell, Georgia.
In 2004, she opened Studio 88 in Cumming, Georgia, and then in Canton, Georgia in 2007. She also taught private piano lessons and group theory instruction through The Academy of Performing Arts at First Baptist Church, Atlanta, Georgia for six years.
Sara is a member of the National Federation of Music Clubs (NFMC), Music Teachers National Association (MTNA), Georgia Music Teachers National Association (GMTA), North Fulton Music Teachers National Association (NFMTA), and the Cherokee Music Teachers National Association (CMTA). She is also a Founding Teacher of The Achievement Program through Carnegie Hall Royal Conservatory.
In addition to classical instruction, Sara has served as a pianist at First Baptist Church of Atlanta, Georgia since 2001.
